This weeks fishing report is all focused on spring time and what to expect.
Spring fishing is phenomenal and you can target multiple species with different tactics. We are fishing oil rigs in Breton Sound catching lots of sheepshead and redfish with some occasional giant black drum. The marsh fishing is firing off with lots of bait showing up and the hungry reds following them inland. Focus on points and current to have the best luck. The trout are here in good numbers and should really kick off when these cold fronts give way to some warmer weather. Give us a call now to get on the books! Capt. This weeks fishing report is all about the fall pattern. Tons of shrimp and mullet have made it here for the yearly push inshore and the fish are right behind them. Trout fishing this year has been absolutely phenomenal and the redfish are stacking up on inside islands and grass lines! The weather is beautiful and the fish are plentiful , look for birds and bait jumping and start fishing ! Also we have several openings available so call now!
Capt. Justin Collison August is one of my most favorite months of the year, yes it gets hot outside but the fishing is absolutely INCREDIBLE. If you love to catch big trout I feel like on this next Full Moon it may be the best time frame to catch big trout all year. On the last cycle of the moon we absolutely hammered the fish, we still have availability this month so call me now. The fall books are filling up very fast, some of you may be scared of this Covid but all of us guides ask you to not cancel and let’s stick this out together. There’s no better place to be than in the fresh air on the beautiful marshes of South East Louisiana!
On another level , then redfish continue to be decent , it’s always kind of tough for them this time of year. The giant Bull Redfish are a totally different story we have been catching 10-20 giant pigs ranging from 15-40 pounds !! Call us today and give us a chance to show you just why Louisiana is the only fishing capital of the world!! Thanks Captain Justin signing out! Capt. Justin Collison Hopedale. Delacroix and Lake Pontchartrain Fishing Charters Welcome to this weeks fishing report, brought to you by Smith Optics the best fishing shades on the planet! We are going to discuss two by topics this week and those are fishing conditions and fall fishing. Just in the heat of summer we are all getting together exhausted but the fishing is red hot ! We are catching lots of Bull Reds in the sound on pogey’s, what you want to focus is on flipping baits and big drifting slicks... pop pop and hold on!! Also the trout bite on the reefs and rigs has been pretty solid as well. Slot reds continue to offer a good fight and bring tons of smiles. Our whole goal this time of year is to leave super super early and beat the heat we call it. A typical trip runs from 5:00 a.m - 11:30 a.m, with more or less time depending on the trip.
Our second part of this report is all about Fall Fishing In Hopedale and Delacroix. All’s I’m going to say is you better book now !! This year is booking very fast , and the lodging even books faster. So if you want to get in please book soon !! You can expect this fall to be one for the record books!! Call now 504-919-3384!! Thanks y’all, Captain Justin We haven’t been able to get offshore much because of the crazy storms and weather, but the inshore has been absolutely incredible. We’ve been smashing them on the calm days, windy days, and even in the rain. Watching big upper slot and bull redfish come up and nail some giant mullet is pretty awesome!!!!! We had anyone from super experienced anglers to making little kids dreams come true. No matter the skill level we have a trip for you!! Bring some friends or family and come on down and enjoy some great food and fishing right here in New Orleans Louisiana!
Capt. Justin Collison Hopedale. Delacroix and Lake Pontchartrain Fishing Charters The offshore snapper bite is still absolutely incredible, like I said last week it’s probably the best mangrove fishing I’ve ever seen. They are big and they are mean, probably one of the hardest fighting fish you can literally catch. The key to catching them is chumming like crazy. If you think you are chumming a lot , chum some more !! The red snapper are also stacked up , I’m finding them anywhere from 60 feet of water to 200 feet.
Moving on to the Inshore , the time is now! The last couple of Inshore trips have been absolutely insane ! Look for giant rafts of mullet on the outer edges of the marsh and set up and fish directly into the schools. If you aren’t around The bait you are not going to be in the fish, there is so many ( dead zones ) so keep grinding until you find them. The water is beautiful right now is so many places , the other day we were catching reds on the left on the grass line and casting out to the right for trout. Right now is a perfect time to come on down to New Orleans with your family and book a trip of a lifetime with Me and Nola Sight Fishing. We greatly appreciate all of our customers. Until next week tight lines and calm seas, Captain Justin This weeks fishing report is all about Snapper, the Snapper bite is on fire. Just because you can only keep Red Snapper on the weekends ( Fri - Sunday ) doesn’t mean you can’t venture into the gulf and not fill the box with Giant Mangrove Snapper and many other great species. This year is one of the best years I’ve seen for the mangroves, they are thick if you know how to find them. This type of fishing is nonstop action so it would be great for families as well. The whole goal is to keep those kiddos busy so parents can relax, I’m very patient with kids and that’s one reason you should come with Nola sight fishing and plan your summer getaway now! We have you covered with top notch lodging and beautiful clean boats to get you on the water today!
The inshore is still going strong with a solid redfish bite, plenty of fish on the outer edges and clean ponds. I started this whole business on the foundation of sight fishing so don’t forget we still do this! Up to two anglers can experience an unbelievable bite like no other in our crystal clear ponds! Until next week I wish y’all the best and tight lines! Capt. Justin Collison Hopedale, Delacroix, Lake Pontchartrain Fishing Charters Welcome to this weeks fishing’s report, I have several topics to discuss with you. One being that red snapper season just opened up and they are loaded on the near shore rigs. You can expect to catch them anywhere from 40-120 feet right now. Also you can catch some giant mangroves right now before they get all spooky as well.
On to the trout and reds , look for big trout on the reefs and rigs around Breton sound. When you find them they are stacked up really good. The water is always changing so don’t be afraid to move around and find those clean patches. The redfish have been tricky , you’re either on them or not. Big tides around this moon have them constantly on the move, fish deeper edges and grass lines for the best luck. Good luck and tight lines, Captain Justin. Hopedale, Delacroix, Lake Pontchartrain Fishing Charters Incredible day on the water with a great group of anglers!
